I’ve no idea what the location of this gig is, though it’s clearly 1966, but aren’t these pictures lovely?

John Lennon & Paul McCartney
Okay, possibly the hottest pic of John and Paul out of the massive collection of hot pics. Because they’re actually fighting here (I think that’s what Dezo Hoffman said). They were disagreeing and John’s got his arms folded because he’s not amused and his face in Paul’s and Paul’s looking Bambi like and a willowy and almost like he’s supplicating but also with his hand tucked into his jacket likes he’s about business. Two forces coming into conflict and who knows which one of them won that day, but it sure is hot as fuck.
January 24th, 1969: After John and Paul run through another take of ‘Two Of Us’, Paul comments on the narratives and discreet emotional correlation between their songs.
PAUL: It’s like, uh, “We have to get back.” “We’re on our way home.”
JOHN: Yeah.
PAUL: There’s a story. There’s another one – ‘Don’t Let Me Down’. “Oh darling, I’ll never let you down.” Like we’re doing—
JOHN: Yeah. It’s like you and me are lovers.
PAUL: [reserved] Yeah. [pause]
JOHN: We’ll just have to camp it up for those two.
PAUL: Yeah. Well, I’ll be wearing my skirt for the show, anyway. And this is the song (Two of Us) that others are insisting is about Linda, because Paul said so. But John and Paul recognized instinctively that these were songs about THEIR story - John knows the Two of Us is about themselves, and not even the other Beatles He doesn’t for a moment think otherwise. God those two had a love story. It’s just taken 50 years to be correctly framed.
