“"While George never seemed to mind if I flirted with John or Ringo, without anything ever being said, it was always understood that Paul was off limits.” Pattie Boyd, AU Magazine January 2014

Damn guys I am really wondeing what to think of that? What does it mean?

George and Paul were competitive, just as John and Paul were, but over pecking order and position rather than songwriting. They were like two brothers in cramped circumstances. They competed over who would drive the car to the point of struggling over the keys, who would get the  best bunk, etc. and a lot of other things, including John’s attention and being his “cool” bandmate (as younger brothers will do with an older brother). In that circumstance and others, Paul was the winner. So when it came to George’s flame, he wanted no encroaching on his territory and Pattie sensed it.
